Claims

Auto Claim: (At the scene of the accident)

  1. Exchange all info, including name, address, PHONE NUMBERS and name of the other party’s insurance company and/or agent, and policy number.
  2. A police report is NOT required, but is very helpful if there is a dispute over who is at fault.

To report the claim do one of the following:

  1. Call the 800 # for claims of your company if one was given to you. (or)
  2. Call your agent during business hours, for individual advice on reporting your claim, and concerning any coverage questions. Go ahead and get an estimate of damage to your vehicle unless it is not drivable or the damage is extensive. For claims under $5,000, most companies will pay off of one estimate. For larger claims, the company will assign an adjuster to come see the vehicle.

Property Claim:
Take immediate measures to prevent further damage to the property.
(For example, if you have a hole in your roof, put a tarp over it and/or make temporary repairs as soon as possible. The adjuster does not need to see the property first.)

If you have a theft claim, a police report must be made.

To report the claim do one of the following:

  1. Call the 800 # for claims of your company if one was given to you. (or)
  2. Call your agent during business hours, for individual advice on reporting your claim, and concerning any coverage questions.

Liability Claim:
This type of claim results from injury or property damage you cause to others (other than auto). Please report any incident you are concerned about or feel responsible for. We may be able to prevent a law suit by responding quickly. If you have received a law suit, fax it to us immediately.
Your company will respond to the law suit for you if you have coverage for the allegations.
